Fireberd Requiem: Season 6
Episode 4

“Lydia! Get your ass in the kitchen now!”
Lydia rushed into the kitchen, wearing her new uniform: a white buttoned shirt and black tight jeans. She had her hair in two ponytails and wore black hipster-like glasses, making her look like a complete dork. She was awfully cute, though…
Inside the kitchen, the Arrow Droids were standing in the corner, opposite from the stove, which was currently on fire. “Help us!”
Lydia grabbed a fire extinguisher and blasted it at the flames. They were immediately put out and the stove was saved, albeit the burnt food that was ruined on the stove.
“Oh, thank goodness.” Black Arrow Droid sighed heavily. “Water Droid was not available to help us put it out. At least you can put out fires.”
She shrugged. “I’m happy to help.”
Moments later, Eric and Torture Droid entered the room. “What happened? I was alerted that there was a fire in the kitchen.”
“Is everyone alright?” asked Torture Droid.
“We’re fine.” Brown Arrow Droid spoke. “Lydia put it out for us.”
“Really?” Eric stared at her. “Well…great!”
Lydia smiled and blushed. “Thank you.”
Silver Arrow Droid nodded. “I’ll alert Cameron and Olivia of your save.”
“Who?”
“They’re some workers we hired while you were gone.” The Arrow Droids explained. “Cameron’s the host and Olivia’s a waiter.”
“Oh.” Lydia replied. “Okay then.”
The Arrow Droids left the kitchen. Eric turned to Lydia. “So, now that you’re working for the Arrow Droids, we’ll have to adjust our time we spend together.”
“Why?” Lydia asked.
“Well, it’d look a bit unprofessional if the executive is in a relationship with a fellow co-worker.” Torture Droid pointed out.
“Since when does that stop you?” asked Lydia.
“And since when was I in a relationship?” growled Eric. He turned to Lydia. “The point is, the Arrow Droids don’t want our relationship getting in the way of your work at the Flame Café. They take this business motto very seriously.”
“Don’t you own them?” Lydia frowned.
“Well, technically yes.” Eric nodded. “But the Arrow Droids also have a mind of entrepreneurism. I gave that ability to them.”
“Why?” asked Lydia.
“How do you think I can afford to make all these robots?” asked Eric. “I rely on the Arrow Droids’ incredible skills in marketing and budgeting to make me some money.”
Lydia smiled. “I could help you make money too?”
Eric shook his head. “That’s alright. I’m not going to let you spend anything for me. I still need to pay you back for what you did for me. You gave me a place to stay, even when I had no place else.”
“Well,” Torture Droid shrugged. “Master Eric, you did technically have the Fireberd. You could’ve stayed there.”
“Not now, Torture Droid.” Eric growled. “I’m feeling sentimental right now.”
Lydia nodded. “Well, in any case, I’m here for you. Unlike Crystal, I can actually help make your life better.” She hugged him tightly. “Have faith in me.”
Eric hugged her back. “Never doubted you for a second.”
Spinner Droid and Missile Droid entered the kitchen a few moments later. “Master Eric, we’re here.”
“Good.” Eric smiled. He turned to Lydia. “When does your shift end?”
“Well, technically I don’t start work until tomorrow.” Lydia spoke. “Today was just training.”
“Alright then.” Eric nodded. “Would you like to accompany me and some of my robots downtown to pick up some items?”
“Sure.” Replied Lydia.
They exited the Flame Café. The Arrow Droids were loading equipment into Banzai Blaster. The other car robots started their engines and awaited their departure.
“The vehicles are loaded.” Silver Arrow Droid answered.
The other Torture Droids were climbing inside Banzai Blaster. Lydia glanced at his robots. “Some of your robots look a little different.”
Eric smirked. “Laser Blaster now has a white-striped decal riding down the center of him. Phoenix has been repainted as purple and black. Finally, Eclipse has been remodeled into a 2014 Lexus LFA.”
“What was wrong with the Aventador?” asked Lydia.
“I already own a Lamborghini.” Eric motioned to Phoenix. “Plus, I like the LFA.”
Lydia smiled and fluffed her hair. “So, are you gonna show me a good time now?” She danced provocatively around him, but lost her balance and stumbled onto the ground. “Ow! My butt.”
Eric glanced at her. He held out his hand and helped her up. “Are you okay?”
She nodded. “I’m fine.”
Eric helped her into Banzai Blaster’s cabin. The other Torture Droids entered the cabin. Then the robots began driving off towards the city.
Eric sat at the driver’s seat. He put on a headset and spoke. “Ready to roll, robots?”
“Ready, Master.” They answered.
The eleven robots began driving onto the highway, pushing other cars out of the way as they drove. Banzai Blaster was in the middle of the pack. Bill Blaster, Engine, Laser Blaster, Bomb Blaster, and Eclipse drove in front. React, Missile Blaster, Asphalt, Blood Crush, and Phoenix drove in the back.
Eric turned to Lydia. “Did you enjoy your first day of…well, training?”
She nodded. “I liked it. There was a lot of stuff I was familiar with. I liked the Arrow Droids as bosses, so working with them again should be good.”
“Well, let me know if they give you trouble.” Eric spoke. “Torture Droid still holds command over them. He can straighten them out.”
“Awe, you’re so sweet.” She sat in the passenger seat next to him. “Hey, did you hear they’re making a new Super Smash Brothers?”
“For what?” Asked Eric. “The Wii?”
“The Wii U.” she spoke. “I wanna get it.”
“Sure.” Eric shrugged. “It sounds pretty cool!”
“Will you buy it for me?” she asked.
“Buy it for you?” growled Eric. “You have a job. Can’t you buy it yourself?”
“I could…” Lydia shrugged. “But who knows? Maybe I won’t let you play it then…”
Eric narrowed his eyes. “You’re ridiculous.”
She just giggled and propped her feet against the dashboard. “I know.”
