Party of Champions 15
Boardwalk’s Empire

Yogurt and the others were thrown into an interrogation room within the casino. They sat in folding chairs handcuffed to the ground, and unable to move. A large, metal table stood before them. The room was unusually large for an interrogation room. It was at least a good 30ft in all directions.
“This sucks.” Globe sighed. “We weren’t here for five minutes, and we already got arrested.”
Yogurt turned to Domino. “Why’d you cheat?”
“I didn’t cheat!” she snarled back.
“Then where did that card come from?”
“Hmm…” Domino thought for a moment. “I was probably framed.”
“By who?”
At that moment, the man with the pimp hat entered the room. He wore dark blue pants and a black vest, covering a white, dress shirt. He wore a very large black and white coat, but he wore it over his back, rather than with his arms in the sleeves. He also wore a pair of blue sunglasses indoors for some reason. He was skinny and notably taller than any other member of the Party of Champions, at least 6’4”.
“You!” Yogurt snarled. “Release us!”
“Shut up.” The man spoke. He sat down before them and propped his legs up against the table, revealing his very shiny black shoes. “Let’s talk about you guys.”
“I didn’t cheat.” Domino answered. “I swear on my life.”
“Are you sure?” he asked. “I’ve seen plenty of shady men and women come into the casino and try to use their bogus ideas to try and trick both their opponents and the dealer.”
“Well, Domino’s not one of them.” Yogurt growled. “She would never cheat!”
“You have a lot of faith in your girlfriend.” He smirked.
“She’s not my girlfriend.” Yogurt answered. “She’s my problem-solver.”
“Your what?”
“Let’s just stick with friends.” Domino smirked.
The man turned to the Globe. “And you must be his daughter?”
“I’m not a child!” Globe cried. “I’m 16.”
“Sure.” The man finally turned to Hourglass. “And you’re…his friend also, I’m gonna guess based on the previous girls’ answers.”
Hourglass nodded. “Please don’t do anything bad to me…I might enjoy it.”
The man smirked and then turned back to Yogurt. “Alright! I’ve heard enough!”
“So, you believe us when we said that Domino didn’t cheat?” asked Yogurt.
“Of course she didn’t.” the man spoke. “I put the card there.”
“What?”
The man removed each of their handcuffs and sat back down. “My name is Boardwalk. I’m the owner of Regal Heights and this casino.”
“My name’s Yogurt.” He bowed. “This is Domino, Globe, and Hourglass.”
“Pleasure.” Boardwalk spoke. “By the looks of it, I’d say you guys are fairly new. First timers?”
They nodded. Boardwalk smiled. “Well, that’s just dandy, isn’t it?”
Domino glared at the man. “Why’d you frame me?”
“Because it was too easy.” He smirked. “You expose yourself rather inappropriately, and I find it very easy to frame those who dress otherwise.”
“Are you saying I dress like a wench?” she asked.
“No.” he shook his head. “You just exposed a bit of cleavage, and I took advantage of it.”
“How did you do that though?” asked Globe. “I didn’t even see you put the card there.”
“It’s a special ability I have.” Boardwalk spoke. His arm transformed into a black metal. “I have the power to turn into steel.”
“Cool.” Replied Yogurt. “That’s amazing!”
“What does that have to do with the card?” asked Hourglass.
“It doesn’t.” Boardwalk commented. “I was able to put the card there because I’m just skilled like that.”
“So you were just showing off the metal thing for no reason?” Globe spoke.
“Of course!” Boardwalk laughed. “I’m the richest man in Regal Heights!”
“Join my team.” Yogurt grinned.
“Pardon?”
“Join my team!” Yogurt repeated himself. “I’m gonna travel around the universe and become the strongest fighter ever!”
“Really?” asked Boardwalk. “You sure talk a lot for someone who got framed for cheating.”
“So, is that a yes?” asked Yogurt.
Boardwalk shook his head. “Afraid not, kid. I’ve got other problems to be dealing with.”
“Like what?”
“Catching the scoundrels that prowl around Regal Heights.” Grumbled Boardwalk. “I’ve also got a lot of duties to fulfill as the owner of the town.”
“Are you like, the mayor or something?” asked Hourglass.
“No.” Boardwalk shook his head. “This town already has a mayor. I just own it.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means that I decide what the mayor does.”
There was a crash heard from the lobby, followed by several screams. Boardwalk rushed outside. Yogurt yawned and stretched his arms. Then he grinned widely. “I like him.”
“Him?” grumbled Domino. “Why? He’s a jerk!”
“He’s the financial advisor we’ve been searching for all this time!” Yogurt smiled. “We need him to join our ranks.”
Hourglass blushed. “He’s so tall too! Tall guys are so dreamy.”
Globe glanced at her. “Why do you like tall guys?”
“Well, I like all guys…” Hourglass licked her lips. “But this guy looks like fun!”
“Stop it!”
Yogurt smirked. “Let’s go see what the commotion is all about.”
Yogurt and the others rushed out to go check the source of all the screams. Boardwalk stood face-to-face against a huge gang of thugs. There were about fifteen men and women standing before him, holding weapons and chains.
“What’s going on here?” growled Boardwalk.
The leader of the gang approached Boardwalk. He was a massive man, wearing metal arm plates and leg plates. His body was very muscular, and he wore a black bandana over his head. His skin was darker than the other gang members. “Mr. Boardwalk. Your time is up.”
Boardwalk drew a pair of steel tonfa, both of which had a steel cannonball at the end. “Well, Sir Rattler. What are you doing here?”
“Taking over your casino.” He cracked his knuckles. “And Regal Heights while I’m at it.”
Meet Boardwalk, the leader of Regal Heights, and what looks to be a prospective financial advisor. At least, that's what he looks like to Yogurt, anyway...
